January 31st-Special Friends

Last night we had some special friends over for dinner and some Wii time. Chris & I have been friends with Roy & Shelley for a long time. They are very special people in our lives.

It makes it even sweeter that our kids have become friends. We finally got the kids to hold still long enough for me to snap a picture. (Notice who Sydney is sitting next to.)

We had a great time with lots of laughs and some wonderful food. The strawberry pie was so yummy!

January 30th-Busy Day

Today was such a busy day. So much going on that it can't be a one picture day again. Before we left this morning, I convinced the girls that we had to get some pictures in their cute clothes. At first Megan only wanted to wear her "cupcake tights" with her yellow dress. I reminded her that Tammy bought the brown & pink dress. Of course she wore it then.

This morning I had a meeting to attend. Since schools were closed again today, Mom took the girls to have lunch with Kiki. They ate at the Noodle Company which just opened. Today was Megan's first time sitting in a "big girl carseat". She was so excited. It will be nice not to deal with that other carseat anymore.

This afternoon Sydney had a follow up appointment with Dr. Karlapudi. They wanted to do a skin test to see if Sydney was allergic to pecans. Sydney wasn't a happy girl. Three pricks There were tears. I told Sydney that we would do something fun on our way home.

I surprised the girls with stop at Cammack Station. They each got a sundae. A customer who was eating, commented how well behaved the girls were. It was music to my hears. Little did he know that I threatened the girls before we got out of the van. :-) They did a great job and we had a fun little treat of dessert before dinner.

January 29th-We have WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Life has been so busy that it is hard today to just post one picture. Again. This morning school was cancelled again. So I begged Molly to watch Sydney when I took Megan to BSU for her first speech session. While I was at BSU, we got a call that our well test had gone through. So we were safe to drink the water.

January 28th-Snow Day

School was cancelled today. Sydney cried when I told her. She only wanted there to be a delay so she could sleep in. You can tell by the mailbox that we got a lot of snow. According to Channel 13, we got 12.8 inches. That is more snow than we have had the entire winter. The girls convinced me to let them finger paint. They still have colored hands tonight.

Sydney went out and played in the snow when Megan took her nap. And as soon as Chris got home from work, they all went outside. This was Megan's first time playing in the snow. She wasn't so sure that she liked it.

January 18-24 Scrapbook layout

I just started the Project 365. Since I didn't start until January 24th, I figured it would be best to scrap the most recent week. I will go back and get the first two weeks completed. Since this is my VERY FIRST LAYOUT EVER in Photoshop Elements, I am pretty pleased. I have a lot to learn with this program but am happy with my first attempt. Hopefully these pics will load correctly. (Crossing my fingers). For any PSE users, please be kind. I know it is kind of sloppy but at least one week is done.

January 27th- Unexpected Lunch

Megan & I were on our way home from preschool this morning when I got a phone call. Chris wanted to know if we would like to go to lunch. I had worked out at the Y while Megan was at school, so I told Chris it couldn't be anywhere "nice". Of course, Megan wanted to eat at McDonalds.

January 26th- Gymboree!

I was finally able to redeem our GymBucks from Gymboree. I am all about stretch every penny we have. I was able to get 50% off our order. I only purchased items that were already on sale which made the money stretch even further. The girls had fun trying on their clothes. It was hard to explain to Megan that she couldn't wear the clothes because it was 11 degrees outside.

January 25th-Special Breakfast

Grandma Cook gave Sydney a Paula Dean children's cookbook for Christmas. The Friday before Sydney broke out in her hives, I had bought the ingredients for two of the recipes that Sydney had picked out. Obviously because of the hives, the cooking got put on hold.
So this morning, Sydney made us cinnamon rolls for breakfast. They were so yummy and she did a great job!

January 24th- Busy Day

Well, I am not happy with how blogger uploaded these pictures. I wanted them in a certain order but I am tired of messing with it. (The second & thirday pictures) Today, we went to our friends's house, Toddy & Jenny, for a game afternoon/evening. I knew that I wouldn't be able to participate because of a certain 2 year old in our life. So I took a bag of her toys and we sat and played. There weren't any other children there her age so she was intimidated by the bigger kids and their rougher play. Megan was getting bored and I pulled out her Princess camera. That is the picture of her with her camera taking a picture of herself when she thought she was taking a picture of me. After awhile, Megan got bored. So I let her take some pictures with my camera. I have two photobugs without a doubt. Both girls LOVE to take pictures. So Megan posed me. It was so cute. She would tilt my head a certain way and have me look different directions, sit in different spots and tell me when me to smile. I actually thought several of the pictures that Megan took of me were pretty good.

Then the first picture is when we got home. Today was Sydney's 1/2 birthday. She has been talking about it for some time. She was so excited to be 6 1/2. On the way home for Todd & Jenny's (around 8pm), Sydney asked me what was for supper. I told her that we had supper at Todd & Jenny's. Sydney informed me that was lunch and she was starving. The hunger is a result of the Prednisone that she is on. She is hungry ALL of the time. She can't get enough food. So I asked her if she wanted a grilled cheese sandwich. Sydney said that sounded good. So while she cleaned up her room, I fixed the grilled cheese. I had her sit down at her seat at the kitchen table and we surprised her with the candle in her sandwich and we sang "Happy Birthday to You".

January 23rd-Two Pictures

Today just happens to be a two picture day. I am sure throughout the year that there will be days that the day just demands more than one picture documentation. Today is one of those days.

The first picture is of Megan. We were just sitting on the couch a few minutes ago. I was working on my laptop and I her a quiet little voice singing "Jesus Love Me". I look over and see Megan rocking Dora. It was so sweet. I convinced her to let me take a picture.
The second picture is of my laptop & Molly's laptop. Molly & I have both had a hard few weeks. We have both had children in the ER. Molly has been sick. I had my surgery plus the whole thing with Sydney & no water. We needed a vacation. So Molly & I decided that we would take a vacation to Panera. We met there this morning for some no-children time. We had a tasty breakfast and enjoy some computer/digi scrapping time even though we weren't very productive. We sat by the window so we could soak up some sunshine. It was such a nice little break for both of us.

Sisters

This morning while we were waiting for the school bus, I snapped this picture. I thought it was so sweet. Megan is upset if she wakes up after Sydney has left for school. Megan always want a hug from her sister. I remind them that they need to always turn to each other and that sisters are special friends.

Getting Started

Just a few days ago, I heard about Project 365. It is basically a challenge to take a picture a day for 365 days. A glimpse in our lives. A way to document the everday things that we tend to forget. I was struck by this idea. I have such a bad memory since getting sick with PTC. So the idea of small snapshots into our lives was appealing.

Well, today is January 22nd. With everything that has happened in our lives in the past week alone, I am behind in my picture taking. I hope to keep up with our daily pictures.

So here we go.

We Have Water... Sort Of

The pump on the well is finally fixed. We can flush the toilets. What a simple blessing. But we can drink, cook or brush our teeth with the water. So we are using a lot of bottled water right now. Recycling here we come!

Water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To add insult to injury, the pump on our well went out on Saturday morning (1/17) No water at all. Thankfully, we were able to go to PT & Tammy's to fill up jugs to flush the toilets. FYI-It takes 3 gallons to fill the toilet holding tank. LOL. Poor Chris made so many trips back and forth.

January 19th-Medicine Medicine More Medicine

Medicine is very important right now in Sydney's life. We are just trying to keep the hives away. Poor thing is so wiped out from the medicine and hyped up from the predinisone.

January 18th-ER

The first picture is one that I took on Sunday morning. We left for the ER within five minutes. The second picture, was Sydney as soon as we got home from our day in the ER. What a difference.
Sydney also got her first "wheeling chair" ride. I took a picture with my cell phone because I didn't have my phone.

January17th- Sydney's Hives

I snapped this picture (which is one of several images) as soon as I got Sydney home from PrimeTime. The doctor told us to go home and call back in four days if Sydney wasn't better.

January 12th-Sweet Sydney

Sydney loves to watch cartoons in the morning before the bus comes. She wasn't even aware that I took her picture. :-)

January 11th- Crazy Dancing

I was able to get a snap of Megan's crazy dancing. She doesn't dance often because she tends to be a little shy. But when she does dance is so fun to watch.

January 8th-A Special Friend

I really don't need to label these pictures. Tammy is a very special person in our life.

January 7th-Meg's first hair cut

Megan has a very interesting hair pattern. Amy has told me this for some time not that it took a genius to see that. It is kind of curly but the curls don't all start at the top of her head. I finally decided that I couldn't take the messy look any longer. So Amy choppd it off for us. As soon as Amy made the first cut Megan said "All done?". Uh no. We convinced Megan to hold relatively still.

The haircut turned out so cute! She has curls~

January 6th- Cheesy Smiles

Sydney took this picture of her and Megan with her own camera. I love these cheesy smiles.

January5th-Back to School

This was Sydney's first day back to school after Christmas break. She was so excited to wear her "Scottie outfit". This was an outfit that she got for Christmas. Tammy helped her pick it out on Gymboree's site.

Breakfast Out

We normally don't go out for breakfast. Chris wanted to have a special treat. IHOP. We had a lot of fun. The girls both got the smiley-face chocolate chip pancakes.

January 3rd-Outside Our Front Door

This is the scene outside our front door. I love looking out our front door. I love keeping the door open and just leaving the glass door closed. Leaving the door open allows so much light in to the house especially the family room.

Megan's Choice of Napping Spot

Megan told me that she wanted to take a nap. I asked her where and she showed me. She laid up on the kitchen table. I told her to hold still because I wanted a picture.

Janaury 1st

We had our "Wenger" family Christmas on New Year's Day. We started out at Mom & Al's house. We had just finished opening presents when their power went out. We packed up the Papa Murphy's pizza and headed to our house. We had a lot of fun playing the Wii.
